High-Q RF inductors feature lower cost

Multilayer organic RF inductors, housed in a 0402 case size, are a departure from traditional low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) and thin-film passive SMD components. The new series provides high Q and high self-resonance, and feature an inductance range of 1 to 32 nH.

Polymer based, and using high-conductivity multilayered copper interconnects, the components can be fabricated on large area substrates and with laser-direct imaging, the result is improved cost over LTCC and thin-film alternatives. They also feature high self-resonant frequency (SRF), supporting frequencies well above 1 GHz, and are expansion matched to PCBs, for improved reliability.
