2.5-in. SSD is fast and low power

The SSD 335 solid-state disk drive uses 20-nm flash and offers 4-Kbyte reads up to 42,000 IOPS, and writes up to 52,000 IOPS. The drive has a 240-Gbyte capacity and a 6-Gbit/s SATA interface.

The 2.5-in. 9.5-mm-tall unit performs 500-Mbyte/s sequential reads and 450-Mbyte/s sequential writes. Memory for the drive comes from IM Flash Technologies. Active power is 330 mW, and idle power is 275 mW. (MSRP $184 — available now.)
