Step motor controller programmed via SPI

The L6480, and L6482 cSPIN programmable stepper motor controller ICs feature a dual full-bridge gate driver for N-channel MOSFET power stages and non-dissipative over-current protection. The L6480 supports micro-stepping operation at up to 1/128 steps resolution, and the L6482 adds a predictive control algorithm and auto-adaptive decay mode.

Step motor controller programmed via SPI

The HTSSOP38 packaged ICs gate-driver circuitry can operate from 8 V to 85 V. All application commands and data registers, including those for analog values such as the current protection trip point, are sent through a standard 5-Mbit/s SPI. ($3.00 ea/1,000 – available now.)
