Cases split for better fit

Unlike earlier TEKAM series extruded aluminum enclosures, the TEKAM 3L models from Teko Enclosures have two-part extrusion profiles for the case body, instead of a single-part extrusion body. Having a two-part body allows connectors, displays, and switches fitted on a PCB to protrude through the top and base section, which is not possible on the single-part case body. Typical applications for the enclosures will include handheld test and measurement devices, radio-control equipment, wall-mounted monitoring systems, security devices, and building-control equipment.

Each enclosure consists of four major parts — a two-part case body and two die-cast end panels — made of aluminum to provide good levels of RFI/EMI shielding. The case body halves have a series of internal guide rails for slide-in PCBs, and the entire case is assembled with eight self-tapping screws, case-body sealing rings, and end-panel molded rubber gaskets. Customers can specify flat end panels for handheld/portable use or end panels with integrated wall mounting brackets. The cases come in three standard sizes — 4.29 x 1.93 in. and lengths of 4.37, 5.75 or 6.92 in. — and standard colors of off-white with gray end panels or all black. Recessed areas on both sides of the case extrusion and on the end panels can be used for mounting membrane keypads and product labels, and the end panels can also be used for mounting RF antennas. Custom hole placement, silk screening, and painted case colors are options. (Contact Sean Baily at seanb@okwenclosures.com for pricing and availability.)
