ICE Components Celebrates 30 Years of Supplying Innovative Magnetic Solutions

Atlanta, GA – ICE Components, Inc., a leading supplier of innovative magnetic solutions for the power electronics market, is celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2013. Founded in 1983 by Dan Snow, ICE Components entered the marketplace as a resource for low cost, high quality products manufactured in Asia and made available in the U.S. for just-in-time delivery. In its early inception, ICE supplied connectors, resistor networks, DC/DC converters, printed circuit boards and magnetics to the telecommunications market.
In the early 1990s, ICE Components expanded operations by investing in its own Asian manufacturing facility. ICE opened an office in Taiwan and a factory in Shenzhen, China. Today, ICE’s state-of-the-art factory employs over 2,500 workers and has a production capacity of 2,500,000 transformers and 3,750,000 inductors per month.
With the addition the manufacturing facility, ICE sought growth opportunities within the power market. In 1998, ICE followed the markets demand and shifted the focus of its magnetics portfolio to include advanced power applications. ICE also began to support power assembly opportunities for customer’s needing design and build capabilities. A new corporate mission was established, “Helping to Engineer the Technology of Power.” A standard magnetics product line was introduced with ICE’s first-ever product catalog 1999. Today, ICE offers one of the broadest product lines, including more than 1,500 standard parts and custom solutions.
In 2000, George Stokes was named President of ICE Components and he brought forth a new vision. While ICE would continue to deliver innovative and cost-effective magnetic and power assembly solutions to the market, Stokes sought to establish sales channels in Europe, Asia, South America and points beyond. With the help of partners overseas, ICE now serves customers in Europe, Israel, India, Australia, Japan, Philippines, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Taiwan, China, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica. In 2011, ICE joined the Mouser network of suppliers offering its most popular standard products for immediate order and fulfillment.
As ICE Components looks toward the future, it is with the continued goal of expanding the product base and entering new markets, both domestic and abroad. By leveraging the knowledge and engineering expertise built over the past 30 years of operations, ICE will continue to offer value-added engineering services and custom solutions to the ever-changing market of advanced power applications.
