API Technologies ‘Edition’ Receives Avaya Services Certification

Supports plug-and-play SAL connectivity for remote services delivery

ORLANDO, FL – April 8, 2013 – API Technologies Corp., a trusted provider of RF/microwave, microelectronics, and security solutions for critical and high-reliability applications, announced today the ION SA5600-SAL: Avaya SAL Edition is now Avaya Services Certified. The ION SA5600-SAL is a security appliance with an embedded Avaya Secure Access Link (SAL) Gateway that provides IP and secure dial-up connectivity to Avaya and heritage Nortel systems. It allows technicians, service providers, and support services to conduct remote troubleshooting and maintenance of critical systems.

The ION SA5600-SAL is pre-configured with the SAL Gateway, and its plug-and play properties enable it to be installed in under 10 minutes.  It supports up to 400 managed devices and eliminates the need for a dedicated server, a RedHat® license, and a skilled engineer with Linux knowledge. The appliance comes with a built-in modem for dial-up access and is available in a 2-, 4-, or 8-port model.
