The company took this information and, upon analyzing it, compiled a simple list of the 15 most often-requested licenses and certifications from these job ads.

They are as follows:

2. Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
3. Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
4. Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
5. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
6. Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA)
7. Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
8. Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
9. DoD 8570 Certification
10. Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
11. Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
12. ITIL Foundation certification (v3)
13. Certified Scrum Coach
14. IBM Rational Unified Process Certification (RUP)
15. Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)

Some of the things that jump out from this list: 4 of the 15 certifications listed above are related to Microsoft, and Cisco’s name appears three times as well.

Health technology continues to grow in leaps and bounds, which has resulted in the sudden need for IT professionals that can build and maintain systems that can secure online medical records. These systems need to meet federal guidelines, which probably explain why the industry is requesting HIPPA certifications from their IT prospects.
