Compact motors have integrated control

The Lexium MDrive motion control is an integrated step motor + driver + programmable controller with choice of two motor sizes, NEMA 23 & 34, each with three lengths providing holding torque of 103 to 242 oz-in or 336 to 920 oz-in respectfully. The drive (example: LMDCM571) comes in two versions – pulse/direction ( motor+drive) and motion control (motor+drive+controller) for direct programming with 11,120 bytes of flash memory.

The full closed loop motion control version includes a 1,000 line encoder and isolated RS-422/485, Ethernet, or CANopen communications. The closed loop versions use hMTechnology, which blends stepper and servo motor benefits, while eliminating negatives such as loss of synchronization or stalling. The drive operates from 12 to 70 Vdc.
