The 12th time was the charm for Kanaan who had earned second place at the Indy 500 in 2004 and third place finishes in 2012 and 2003. Kanaan now goes into the history books as one of the greatest and most popular drivers with a first-place victory in the Indy 500, the granddaddy of American car racing.

“I got a little bit of luck today,” said Kanaan, who is extremely popular among his peers as well as fans. “It's for the fans. It's for my dad who's not here. But mainly for all of you guys. I was looking at the stands, and it was unbelievable.”

“I want to thank everybody. I've never seen so many people from other teams (offering congratulations). This is it, man. I made it. I'm finally going to put my ugly face on that trophy,” he joked.

It was the 16th career victory for Kanaan.

“Tony drove an absolutely amazing race,” said Todd McAtee, Mouser Vice President of Business Development. “He has fought hard for this and all of us here at Mouser are excited that we are able to be a part of this incredible victory. And the season isn't over yet.”
