256 Gbyte SSD is rugged, self-encrypting

The TRRUST-Stor MSD256 2.5 inch SATA SSD has a 256 Gbyte capacity. It features sustained read/write speeds of 200 Mbytes/s using long-life SLC NAND flash. The rugged drive has an MTBF of 2,000,000 hours at 25°C and a -40° to 85°C operating range

The device targets defense, transportation systems, and medical imaging applications. It has hardware AES 256 encryption using the XTS block cipher mode, the ability to load encryption keys, and the ability to perform a full hardware-based erase in less than eight seconds. 450 and 900 Gbyte versions are planned.
