Search for the New Winner of the Mouser 500

Put your knowledge to the test and invent the one thing NASCAR racing is missing!

Mouser 500 Challenge

Calling all engineers, innovators, and designers! Do you think you have what it takes to improve one of America's fastest sports? If so, give the Mouser 500 a shot to ultimately advance systems used at races such as the Indy 500. The 2013 Mouser 500 Engineering Challenge kicked off May 21 and will go until September 15. The contest calls for anyone with an innovative idea for one of the two sponsor challenges: (1) PitStop Camera/Fuel Readout and (2) Load Cell Test and Recalibration Rig. Come September, Mouser will choose a Grand Prize Winner for each category and a total of 10 finalists. The Grand Prize Winners will take home an iPad Mini and one official Mouser racing picture. The finalists will win a Mouser Swag Pack, which retails at $50. Participants simply have to submit their contact information and a paragraph for whichever challenge they would like to take on and e-mail all remaining attachments if necessary or desired. All participants should be aware that any idea they hand over to the Mouser 500 is property of Mouser. The challenge application can be found on mouser.com

The inspiration for the contest came from Tony Kanaan's first victory at the Indy 500. It was his twelfthyear attempting the win and after much persistency and motivation, he was finally able to take home what he was waiting for. Mouser Electronics is an official partner of the #11 IZOD Indy/Car Series team for the fourth year in a row. Mouser cites Kanaan's perseverance as a parallel between engineers and innovators who are always looking to design the next big thing. That's why Mouser would like to invite you to preserve like Tony Kanaan and create the piece of racing equipment that the world is missing.
