Thermocouple converter ICs use 1-Wire

The MAX31850/MAX31851 cold-junction-compensated 1-Wire thermocouple-to-digital converters achieve ±2.0°C accuracy (not including sensor nonlinearity) and integrate all of the functions for a complete measurement system. The ICs 1-Wire interface allows multiple sensor locations to communicate and draw power over a single data line.

The chips have an A/D converter with 14-Bit 0.25°C resolution, an accurate reference, and a temperature sensor for cold-junction compensation. They feature ±2kV ESD protection and operate over -40° to 125°C. The ICs supply voltage is 3.0 to 3.7 V, active supply current is only 900 µA typical and pricing starts at $3.10 ea/1,000.
