The 406 series SMT dual-row socket strips are suited for connecting leaded IC devices to SMT boards and stacked low-profile boards in automated assembly lines. The connectors' 2.54-mm-pitch four-finger contacts accept standard IC leads to provide a reliable interconnect solution when used in combination with SMT or through-hole headers.
The precision-machined receptacle body has a profile height of just 0.146 in. and, when mated with a 429 Series SMT header, provides a board-to-board height of 0.300 in. Pin base of the socket strips is only 0.029 in. in diameter, allowing for a small PCB pad size and more space for routing traces., Standard designs are available in 4- to 20-position configurations with co-planarity of 0.005 in. for up to 20 positions. The sockets have high-temperature insulators and are compatible with all SMT soldering techniques (including RoHS), packaged 335 pieces per 13-in. reel, and fitted with vacuum caps for easy pick-and-place assembly.
