September 16, 2013 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking 4.3-in. LCD displays for BeagleBone Black by CircuitCo from 4D Systems. Each provides a 4.3-in. primary display for the BeagleBone Black for direct user interaction and information display.
These two LCD add-on boards – add-on boards are called “capes” in the BeagleBone community – are available in two options: the 4DCAPE-43; and the 4DCAPE-43T, which has touch-screen capability. Both feature a 4.3-in. TFT LCD (thin-film-transistor liquid-crystal display) with 480 x 272 resolution display. They utilize drivers developed for the CircuitCo LCD4, but provide a different form factor and pricing point to the LCD4.
A BeagleBone Black board, also available from Mouser Electronics, is a single-board computer (SBC) that connects directly to the back of either cape, and provides everything the cape needs including power and display signals. Each cape features seven pushbuttons below the screen: LEFT, RIGHT, UP, DOWN, ENTER, RESET, and POWER. Two highly visible LEDs indicate Power and User Status.
