USB 3.0 redriver targets low-power apps

The PI3EQX501i single-channel (half-port) 5.0-Gbit/s USB 3.0 redriver. The device provides programmable equalization and de-emphasis to optimize performance over a variety of physical mediums.

The chip has 100-Ω CML differential input and output and a low-level input signal detection for output squelch function is provided. It also has an unplug mode detector which puts the chip in standby. The IC uses just 160 mW from a single 3.3-V supply and comes in a TDFN8 package. It costs $1.75 ea/10,000.
