Mouser Stocking Analog Devices ADSP-CM40x 240MHz Mixed Signal Development Boards – Processor Coming Soon

Mouser is stocking evaluation boards for the Analog Devices high performance Mixed Signal Control Processor Family

October 25, 2013 – Mouser Electronics, Inc., a leading global authorized distributor for semiconductors and electronic components, is now stocking evaluation boards for the Analog Devices high performance ADSP‑CM40x Mixed Signal Control Processor Family.

The ADSP-CM40x is based on the 32-bit ARM® Cortex‑M4 core. The Cortex‑M4 is a superset of the high-performance Cortex‑M3 embedded processor core. The ADSP‑CM40x Cortex‑M4 core builds on the M3 by adding digital signal processing (DSP) extensions that include both 16- and 32-bit single-cycle Multiply Accumulate (MAC),  a single-cycle dual MAC, single-cycle signed and unsigned multiply instructions, and a hardware divide. The ADSP‑CM40x core also supports SIMD arithmetic, allowing multiple operations in one clock cycle. The core includes 16 KBytes of L1 instruction cache and an IEEE‑754 compliant single-precision floating point unit (FPU).

The ADSP‑CM40x mixed signal processor runs at 240MHz and includes up to 2MBytes Flash memory and 384 KBytes of parity-enabled SRAM. On-chip peripherals include USB OTG, Ethernet, and CAN 2.0B. The chip boasts high-performance, high accuracy analog peripherals including dual 16-bit ADCs with 380ns conversion time, and dual 12‑bit DACs supporting a 50kHz output rate. A selection of on-chip timers, digital I/O, and serial ports compliment the CM40x's range of functionality.

The ADSP‑CM40x EZ‑Board™ available from Mouser Electronics allows easy evaluation and prototyping of a CM40x‑based product by providing access to all CM40x analog and digital peripherals. The board targets motor control and data acquisition applications. All networking ports are available and there is also a port for an external 2×20 LCD display. The ADSP‑CM40x EZ‑KIT Lite® comes with the EZ‑Board plus a Segger J‑LINK LITE ARM debug probe. Available expansion boards allow developers to directly probe any port on the CM40x processor.
