Scrambled Brains Tech has developed a customizable smart doorbell that can connect to your phone and allows you to communicate with anyone approaching your door.

The company boasts about how easy the smartbell can be assembled since no technical skills are required for installation.

How it works

The smartbell connects to your mobile phone via WiFi. When a visitor arrives at your door, you receive a notification to your phone and you have the option to reject the call (if you don’t really like the person at the door). If you choose to accept, a video chat will begin.

The device works with an iPhone and most Android devices so all you need is a WiFi router and the power supply of your door bell.

Smartbell security features

There’s more to the bell than what meets the eye. If motion is detected at the front door, you can arrange for the bell to take a picture of the person that’s there and if you’re away from home, you can still answer the door. As long as you’re connected to the Internet, your device will still work. The smartbell even works in the dark using an infrared LED so you can see everything even at night.

For those who’d like to have more fun with the smart door bell, the company offers some fun customization ideas. You can play with the displays on the bell or create custom messages.  For example if you’re expecting a package, but won’t be home to retrieve it, you can display a message asking the delivery man to leave it in the garage.
