BME capacitors are space-level reliability qualified

The base metal electrode (BME) X7R dielectric SMT multillayer ceramic capacitor series features high reliability and is said to provide superior capacitance-voltage capability to standard technologies. The capacitors also use Sn/Pb Flexiterm termination technology for enhanced mechanical stress resistance and are qualified on the European Space Association's (ESA's) Preferred Parts List.

The MLCCs are rated for 16 to 100 V and 2.2 nF to 8.2 µF, and are available in case sizes spanning 0603 to 1812. An example part, the 12105C105KE, is 1.0 µF, 50 V, with 10% tolerance and the E failure rating (EPPL II ESA approved).
