Resettable fuse protects against catastrophic failures

The NIS5132 resettable electronic fuse helps raise power system reliability by protecting against shutdown and catastrophic failures. It targets hot plug consumer and industrial products, including external disks, printers, and servers.

Operating over an input voltage range from 9 to 18 V, the 3.6-A rated electronic fuse is provided in a low-profile DFN3030-10 package, It integrates a low on-resistance NMOS buffer and an internal current limit. With the buffer’s typical R_DS(on) of 30 mΩ, it has no need for an external sense resistor in the load path, and minimizes voltage drop and power loss.
