Würth WE-FSFS Flexible Sintered Ferrite Sheet
January 15, 2014 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. is the first to stock and ship the new flexible magnetic shielding sheets from Würth Electronics. Würth Flexible Ferrite Sheets can be applied to any surface to protect sensitive equipment from magnetic interference by keeping magnetic fields where they belong.
The Würth WE-FSFS Flexible Sintered Ferrite Sheet available from Mouser Electronics prevents unwanted side effects from magnetic fields interference. Besides wasting field energy, more serious issues such as EMI interference can occur, as well as self‑heating of magnetically conductive equipment. Stray magnetic fields can also affect system operation by inducing electric currents in PC board traces and semiconductor devices, creating difficult to diagnose equipment problems. While conventional magnetic shielding can reduce or prevent these issues, shielding is often difficult to use and awkward to install.
Würth Flexible Ferrite Sheets are specifically manufactured so as to be easy to bend, cut, and apply. This sheeting is easy to use: first, shape and cut to size, next peel away the backing to reveal the adhesive side; last, press firmly into place. Once properly applied, the ferrite sheeting keeps stray magnetic fields safely contained.
These sheets are ideal for wireless charging technologies such as such as Qi-WPC, Power Matters Alliance (PMA), and the Alliance for Wireless Power (A4WP). Shielding is critical in wireless charging as proper magnetic shielding improves efficiency by concentrating magnetic flux only in the direction needed, while protecting outside circuitry.
