Michael Bay, producer of action films you may remember such as Transformers and Friday the 13th had a bit of a crisis at CES while he was speaking at a Samsung press event. He was supposed to be discussing the new Samsung curved HDTV’s and their impact on film, but it turns out the teleprompter malfunctioned and left him at a loss for words.

He tried to recover, but the end result was Bay hastily walking off the stage.
“The type is all off, sorry, but I’ll just wing this,” Bay said initially when the teleprompter stopped working. He fumbled for a few seconds and threw in the towel.

Later in the day he posted on his website apologizing for the goof.
“Wow! I just embarrassed myself at CES – I was about to speak for Samsung for this awesome Curved 105-inch UHD TV. I rarely lend my name to any products, but this one is just stellar. I got so excited to talk, that I skipped over the Exec VP’s intro line and then the teleprompter got lost. Then the prompter went up and down – then I walked off. I guess live shows aren’t my thing,” Bay wrote.
He will be doing a special curved screen experience with Samsung using Transformers 4 movie footage that will be traveling around the world.
