650- and 800-V MOSFETs leverage pkg innovation

The STL12N65M5 and STL2N80K5, high-voltage power MOSFET families feature two new power packages that target equipment such as battery chargers, solar micro-inverters and computer power supplies. The PowerFLAT 5 x 6-mm and PowerFLAT 5 x 6-mm VHV packages provide the insulation path lengths and clearances required for operation at up to 650 or 800 V. This is 52% smaller than the popular DPAK footprint. The package is 1-mm high and features an exposed metal drain pad to maximizes heat dissipation into pc-board thermal vias.

Three 650-V MDmesh V MOSFETs are available in the PowerFLAT 5×6 HV package, priced from $2.20 ea/1,000 for the STL12N65M5, and four 800-V SuperMESH 5 MOSFETs are offered in the PowerFLAT 5×6 VHV package, priced from $1.50 ea/1,000 for the STL2N80K5. In addition, two 600-V fast-switching MDmesh II Plus low Qg MOSFETs are sampling in the PowerFLAT 5×6 HV package.
