UPS targets data center infrastructure

Designed for a 25 year lifecycle, the QPS uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system is offered in a modular design. It combines individual QPS units to meet customer site-specific requirements to provide control over the critical electrical load.

A Hitec QPS power module consists of (1) a diesel engine, (2) freewheel clutch, (3) alternator, (4) Energy Transfer Module (ETM) and (5) flywheel on a solid base frame  (see http://www.hitec-ups.com/?RubriekID=4190 for configurations).

The UPS enables data centers to achieve up to 97% end-to-end efficiency. It delivers no-break UPS ratings of up to 3,600 kVA. The system features an adjustable ride-through timer that prevents the unit’s diesel engine from starting in response to minor power spikes, surges, and other low deviations. It has ‘net protect’ integrated system that provides temperature monitoring, power measurement, and system analysis functionality for the entire QPS system through a secure communication protocol.
