Embedded Artists LPC800/LPC812 MAX Prototyping Board

February 18, 2014 – Mouser Electronics, Inc. is now stocking the LPC800/LPC812 MAX ARM Cortex‑M0+ rapid prototyping board from Embedded Artists, combining the best development features of LPCXpresso, mbed, and Arduino™.

The Embedded Artists’ LPC/LPC812 MAX rapid prototyping board available from Mouser Electronics is based on the NXP Semiconductor 12MHz LPC812, a member of NXP's LPC800‑series of microcontrollers (MCUs). Measuring at only 54x78mm, this unique board combines the best features of three embedded programming environments. First, for mbed, the LPC812 MAX uses the mbed Hardware Development Kit (HDK) which provides a simple USB drag‑n‑drop interface for programming the on‑board MCU. Next, for Arduino, expansion connectors allow the use of Arduino Shields that are compatible with the Arduino UNO. Lastly, the LPCXpresso environment is supported, a simplified Eclipse‑based IDE with an optimized GNU C toolchain which allows code development, programming and debugging through the board's CMSIS‑DAP interface.

The LPC812 MAX provides 16Kbytes of Flash memory and 4Kbytes of RAM. The board can be powered by either a 3.3V or 5V external power supply, or by the USB port. A 14‑pin serial expansion connector provides development access to general purpose I/O pins (GPIO) as well as the I2C, SPI, and UART serial ports of the LPC812 MCU.

The flexibility, programmability, and expandability of the Embedded Artists LPC800/LPC812 MAX rapid prototyping board allows developers to combine Arduino‑compatible expansion hardware with the easy code development of the LPCXpresso code development environment and the programming simplicity of the mbed drag‑n‑drop interface.
