Miracles are kind of hard to notice these days. Luckily, technology has progressed to the point where we can create our own: meet the Miracle Machine, a small little gadget that lets you turn plain old water into any kind of wine you desire.
Okay, so you’ll need a little more than plain old water. The Miracle Machine’s accompanying mobile app will let you know what ingredients you need for each type of wine you want to make, and then you simply have to put those ingredients into the gadget. The app also monitors the state of the wine as it matures, so you’ll know the instant it’s ready to drink. Most wines take around three days to be ready.
We’ve seen several little gadgets that do the same thing for beer, such as the Brewbot, but so far nobody has come up with something to simplify wine-making. Critics are skeptical that Kevin Boyer and Philip James’s creation can actually manufacture a wine that rivals vintages grown and matured in a vineyard, but we won’t know until we try.
Make your favorite Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon in the comfort of your own home
The gadget uses technology including a thermo-plastic fermentation chamber, a thermoelectric heater, a temperature monitor, a motor, a Bluetooth antenna to connect with your smartphone, and custom microprocessor board in order to make you the perfect bottle of wine. The miraculous creators of the Miracle Machine are also planning to launch wine-kits, which will come with the main ingredients you need to start the process such as yeast and grape concentrate.
Sadly, miracles do not come cheap, which is why the machine's creators are planning to start up a Kickstarter campaign in order to fund their expenses. It’s also why they’re expecting to sell it for $499 a pop, whenever it gets off the shelves. For now, we’ll have to make do with trips to the liquor store.
