The LightSpeed-II CL20010 SoC targets 200 and 400 Gbit/s dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transport applications and supports single-carrier 200 G transmission using 16QAM modulation. With its integrated transmit filtering capabilities, the IC enables dual-carrier 400 G super-channels on 75 GHz DWDM spacing, yielding a capacity increase of 170% over today's 100 G coherent systems.
The CL20010 acts as a single chip OTN muxponder, multiplexing two independent 100 G client signals onto a single DWDM wavelength over the same optics that are used for 100 G coherent transmission. The chip also offers features like high-gain soft decision forward error correction, digital transmit filtering, and high-performance carrier recovery. The IC is sampling now and will be in production this year.
