The NCN5193 low power single-chip CMOS modem supports Bell 202 shift frequencies between 1200 and 2200 Hz and is capable of a 1200 bit/s half-duplex data rate. The IC targets highway addressable remote transducer (HART) industrial communications.
The device has a power amplifier and a 17-bit sigma-delta D/A converter with an extremely responsive watchdog mechanism. It runs from a 3.0 to 5.5 V supply over -40° to 85°C and draws only 190 µA while in standby mode with the system clock running. The 32−pin NQFP packaged IC has a maximum supply current of 500 µA. It includes transmit signal wave shaping and a receive band−pass Filter.
