Sitara MCUs target high performance industrial

The Sitara AM4379 processor has a 1 GHz Cortex-A9 core and a quad core PRU-ICSS industrial communications subsystem that supports protocols such as EtherCAT, PROFIBUS, PROFINET, and EtherNet/IP. The PRU-ICSS also has interrupt controller module, a local interconnect bus, and two programmable real-time units.

The IC also carries 32-bit LPDDR2, DDR3, and DDR3L external memory support, a 256 kbyte ROM, crypto hardware accelerators, up to six UARTs, and two multichannel audio serial ports. The 491-pin BGA package device has a dual-port 1 Gbit Ethernet switch, two parallel camera ports, two USB 2.0 ports, a display controller, a 3D graphics engine, dual 867 ks/s eight-channel A/D converters, a vector floating point unit, 32-Bit enhanced capture modules, two CAN ports and three enhanced quadrature encoder input modules.
