If you’re in the mood for fun inventions, cute cats and adorable dogs, then this is the article for youSome animals have all the luck: like those that have the pleasure of being owned by engineers, which means they get to dress up in fun costumes, or used as part of a physics lesson, or play with some pretty fun toys.  You can see all of that below, because we’ve managed to find five of the best videos of engineers playing with the pets.

Smarter Every Day is a YouTube channel that makes fun and educational videos regarding science, animals, and physics. In this video, they explain how cats are always able to land on their feet—by dropping a cat in slow-motion so you can see how it flips.

They also go on to explain how engineers use the physics involved in flipping cats for Space Telescope technology, which are two things I never would have dreamed of connecting, so I would definitely take a moment to watch the video:

4. An Engineer’s Guide to Cats:

This little gem was uploaded by YouTuber klusmanp, who has a whole channel that seems devoted to his cats. In the video below, two professional engineers will take you through a cat tutorial…using their engineering skills.

3.   Monty Python with Cats-A Representative Parody:

From the same channel as the last video, the two professional engineers are back, and this time, they’re using their cats and engineering skills for something very important: reenacting the coconut scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

This video is short, but hilarious. If you happen to have a laser pointer and a microcontroller lying around your house, then you and your cat can have a grand time.

This is an absolutely adorable video involving a very crafty engineer and his home-made tennis ball cannon, which his tiny and absolutely precious dog loves quite a lot. Prepare for an overdose of cute:
