2-W isolated dc/dc converter features small footprint

The unregulated PDS2-M series now offers a 2-W series to its second generation isolated dc/dc converter family. It delivers improved efficiency, isolation, and thermal performance compared to previous versions.  The unregulated device is packaged in the same compact 8 pin SMT package as the existing 1 W PDS family, measuring 12.7 x 11.2 x 7.25 mm. The modules feature 1.5 kVdc I/O isolation and anti-static protection up to 8 kVdc. The 2-W series is designed with an operating temperature range from -40° to 105°C. It helps convert and isolate dc rails within industrial, telecom, security, and machine control applications.

The 2-W dc/dc converter series provides nominal inputs of 5, 12, 15, and 24 Vdc and outputs of 3.3, 5, 9, 12, 15 and 24 Vdc. The converters deliver typical efficiencies up to 86%. To further enhance performance across the entire load curve, the modules have been designed to greatly reduce power draw under light and no load conditions. The devices come standard with continuous short circuit protection, providing an additional layer of protection for sensitive loads. Prices start at $6.41 each/500 pieces.
