Next time you’re shopping for home appliances you can add your own touch by purchasing a lamp that adjusts its shape just by just hugging it.
Hug your lamp, adjust its shape.
Dutch designers Margje Teeuwen and Erwin Zwiers created the Proplamp, a customizable lamp that whose shape can be modified by touching the lamp.
Teeuwen got the idea for such a lamp from her fascination with the shapes crumbled-up paper make and decided to design a collection of lights based on that. In the meantime, Zwiers has been experimenting with materials like functional non-woven plastic that would be ideal for a light design like this. The two designers combined their ideas and created the Proplamp.
Set your Proplamps up to create unique lighting designs.
The Proplamp is composed of biodegradable non-woven material and is shaped like a crushed piece of paper. The material allows the lamp to be re-shaped repeatedly, so you can even string multiple lamps together and create interesting lighting effects.
Proplamps come in color too.
It even comes in colors equipped with LED bulbs and a remote control.
