The QorIQ LS1043A Layerscape communications processor has four Cortex-A53 cores running at 1.5 GHz. The processor takes only 6 W to operate in an average mode with two cores at 1 GHz and full I/O operation. It has a large 1 Mbyte L2 cache and can provide 16,000 CoreMark performance.
The IC includes a DDR3/4 memory controller and a plethora of high speed I/O for wired and wireless systems including a four-lane 10 GHz multi-protocol SerDes, five 1 GbE ports, three PCI Express, three USB 3.0 with PHYs, and SATA 3.0. The device uses CCI-400TM Coherency Fabric and has a SEC 5.5 hardware security engine and a multi-protocol QUICC Engine for wide area and industrial networks.
