Scopes add logic channels to push MSOs’ prices down

With bandwidths ranging from 70 to 300 MHz, the MSO1000Z and MSO2000A series oscilloscopes add 16-channel logic analysis capability to four-channel digital scope series (the DS1000A and DS2000A, respectively), thus creating mixed-signal oscilloscopes (MSOs) at prices starting under $900. The scopes are all based on the company's UltraVision architecture and are available now.

The MSO1000Z series consists of four 7-in.-display models with 70- or 100-MHz bandwidths with or without a built-in two-channel, 25-MHz waveform generator; maximum sampling rate is 1 Gsample/s into a 12- (or optionally 24-) Mpoint memory. Prices start at $835. The eight MSO2000A units have 8-in. displays and bandwidths of 70, 100, 200, or 300 MHz with or without a built-in generator; maximum sampling rate is 2 Gsample/s sampling into a 14- (or optionally 56-) Mpoint memory.  MSO2000 models start at $1,239.
