Delta-sigma modulator offers 7,000 V isolation

The AMC1304M25 delta-sigma modulator offers reinforced isolation combined with an offset voltage error of 150 µV and gain error of ±0.3%. The device uses a capacitive isolation barrier for isolation of 7,000 V peak, surge voltage of 10,000 V, and working voltage of 1,000 Vrms. The IC is recognized for UL 1577 and certified to DIN V VDE 0884-10.

The IC offers a 50-mV input voltage range and has a low 7 mA max. primary side supply current, with 5 mA on secondary side. The device is especially good for shunt resistor current sensing. It costs $3.80 ea/1,000. Also available is the ISO7842 four-channel digital isolator with a ISO7842 reinforced isolation rating of 5,700 Vrms ($3.49). Samples available now.
