First 580-W IBC module in ¼-brick targets telecom

The PKM4613ANH is the power industry’s first 580-W dc/dc intermediate bus converter (IBC) module in a quarter-brick format targets advanced telecommunications computing architecture (ATCA) applications. It is based on a high power density hybrid regulated ratio (HRR) topology, delivers a regulated output voltage, including a stable voltage supply from 40.5 V, and standardized system voltages for telecom applications.

The dc/dc converter HRR module provides regulated 11.6-V output voltage at 50 A (580 W) from 38.5 V. The module has an operating input voltage range from 36 to 75 V and delivers an efficiency of 96.4% at 48-V input and 50% load. The controller enables power consumption as low as 0.3 W when the device is in standby mode. It enables guaranteed operation up to 75 V with no derating. It also complies with the ETSI EN 300 132-2 European Standard for both 48 V and 60 V systems.
