The HI-1590 MIL-STD-1553 serial data bus transceiver IC works with available isolation transformers and features transmitter output amplitude adjustment. Output amplitude can be controlled via an SPI bus or using an analog control voltage input and the device is pin-compatible with existing transceivers.
The chip operates from a single 3.3 V supply and uses a transformer ratio of 1:2.5. It comes in a 7 x 7 mm plastic QFN44 with an isolated exposed heat sink and takes less than 1.2 W maximum over −40° to 85°C or −55° to 125°C.
