Quad digital isolator features dc-dc converter

The Si88242 high-speed, four channel digital isolator features a 2 W dc-dc converter with 78% efficiency that harvests power from the primary side for secondary side power. The IC has two forward and two reverse channels – four other versions have different mixes – and comes in a 20-pin WB SOIC package.

Each channel supports data rates of up to 100 Mbits/s, with 18 ns propagation delay. The device features 5,000 V isolation, 100 Kv/µs transient immunity, -40° to 125°C operation, and AEC-Q100, UL, and VDE qualification. Supply current is approximately 10 ma at 20 Mbit/s operation from a 3.3 V supply. From $2.42 ea/10,000.
