Four-channel TVS diode array protects mobiles

The miniature four-channel bidirectional SP1015 series TVS Diode Array protects data lines from ESD. The diodes can safely absorb repetitive ESD strikes (±20 kV contact, ±30 kV air), which are above the maximum level specified in IEC61000-4-2, without performance degradation. The devices suit applications where conserving board space is critical, including micro-SIM interfaces, touchscreen controller lines, and general purpose I/Os on smartphones, wearable devices, tablets, and eReaders.

The TVS diode arrays feature a 0.93 x 0.53-mm footprint in a flip-chip package and offer a nominal 5-V standoff voltage that permits protection for most user interfaces. The bidirectional configuration provides symmetrical ESD protection for data lines when ac-signals are present. The devices feature 0.65 Ω of dynamic resistance and support the low clamping voltage needed to protect small-geometry ICs.
