Planar xformers fit forward converter designs

The PoE120PL series of high-efficiency planar transformers are optimized for active clamp forward converter designs, including use in Power over Ethernet, and are suitable for 60-120 W applications. The series is optimized for 200 kHz, with a 36-72 V input.

All four versions have 50 µH primary inductance and a 20.83 x 23.37 mm footprint, with a maximum height of 10.34 mm. An example version, the POE120PL-50L, has a primary DCR of 18.9 mΩ, secondary 1.26 mΩ, aux 123 mΩ, and a leakage inductance of 0.31 µH max. It’s 4:1:2.5 turns ratio is intended for a 5.0 V, 24 A output. The transformers provide 1500 Vrms isolation and are rated for 40° to 125°C ambient.
