The LAN9355 three-port 10/100 industrial Ethernet switch IC offloads synchronization and communications processing from a host CPU. It enables advanced features such as transparent clocking, Energy Efficient Ethernet, and wake on LAN, and supports dual MII/RMII/Turbo MII.
The chip provides the switch fabric, packet buffers, buffer manager, MACs, PHY transceivers, and serial management. It features 1588-2008 Precision Time-stamp Protocol, VLAN, QoS packet prioritization, rate limiting, and IGMP monitoring. Its switch fabric has a 3-port VLAN layer 2 switch engine that supports untagged, VLAN tagged, and priority tagged frames. The device runs on 3.3 V and comes in a 88-pin QFN or 80-pin TQFP package.
