I/O controller uses LPC, eSPI, or I2C interface

The MEC1404 through MEC1418 low-power keyboard and embedded controller ICs fit the needs of x86-based notebook and tablet platform designs. The devices have a 18 x 8 keyboard matrix scan controller along with controllers supporting the Intel Enhanced Serial Peripheral Interface (eSPI) and Low Pin Count interface (LPC).

They use a MIPS32 M14K core with 128, 160 or 192 Kbytes of closely coupled SRAM for code and data that loads from SPI-flash and have a multiply divide unit, DMA, and a secure boot ROM. The VTQFP128 or WFBGA144 packaged ICs are available for sampling and volume production starting at $1.68 ea/10,000.
