Featuring a wide power supply voltage range of 4 to 18, the BOOST-DRV8848 is a user-friendly brushed DC motor kit that’s based on the Texas Instruments’ DVR8848 and is optimized to evaluate your motor application and create a complete brushed DC motor drive and control platform when paired with TI LaunchPad kits.
BOOST-DRV8848 is not a standalone evaluation board; its dependent and functions with any of TI LaunchPads following the LaunchPad Pinout Standard. Users may even pair device with MSP-EXP430G2 LaunchPad to get the motor running within minutes.
As such, the device features everything needed to drive single or dual brush DC motors, with support available for a parallel mode for higher current needs. Because it based on the DVR8848, BoosterPack’s drive stage is fully-protected against short-circuit, over-temperature, and undervoltage as a result of reporting through the nFAULT pin.
