Texas Instrument’s DRV8837 is an integrated motor solution fit for analog security cameras, consumer products such as ovens and microwaves, or battery-powered motion control applications. The device has the ability to drive a DC motor or solenoid and can supply up to 1.8 A of output current. It operates on separate motor and logic supply pins with a motor power supply voltage from 0 to 11 V and a device power supply voltage of 1.8 V to 7.0 V.
The DRV8837 also features low-power sleep mode with a 120-nA maximum sleep current. The output driver is made up of N-channel power MOSFET’s arranged as an H-bridge to drive the motor winding, while an internal pump produces needed voltages. Internal shutdown functions are provided for overcurrent and short circuit protection, under voltage lockout, and over temperature.
Lastly, the device has both PWN (IN/IN) and PH/EN interfaces, which are compatible with industry-standard devices.
