Low-cost, compact dev boards target STM32 MCU

The STM32 Nucleo-144 series (NUCLEO-FxxxZy) of low-cost, compact development boards use the STM32 family of Cortex-M4 based flash microcontrollers. The boards are fully compatible with existing development system plug-in expansion boards that allow specialized features ranging from motor drives to motion and environmental sensors. Some versions include 10/100 Ethernet, CAN, and USB FS OTG ports.

They offer additional extension capability via three types of connector: Arduino Uno and ST morpho connectors, plus an ST zio connector. ARM mbed compatibility will be enabled in Q2. Each version supports one of five processors – such as the STM32F429ZIT6 (429) – with flash size of 512 Kbytes (E), 1 Mbytes (G) or 2 Mbytes (I). Example: NUCLEO-F429ZI, $23 each.
