Thyristors withstand up to 1,700-V non-repetitive spikes

The SK225xD /SK255KD /SK625xD /SK655KD series SCR switching thyristors can withstand voltage spikes higher than 1,200 V. They are unidirectional switches that handle voltage spikes and power surges in incoming ac mains power. The SK225xD and SK255KD SCRs can take up to 1,300 V while the SK625xD and SK655KD handle up to 1,700 V without malfunctioning. They are suitable for use as unidirectional switches for ac-mains power supplies up to 240 Vrms that are subject to frequent voltage surges or mains voltage fluctuations, as well as for up to 440 Vrms in stable voltage situations.

The SCRs have high repetitive and non-repetitive peak off-stage voltage (VDRM/VDSM) ratings. Typical applications include ac solid-state switches, industrial power tools, and line rectification. The SK225xD and SK625xD series SCRs are available in TO-220AB packages and the SK255KD and SK655KD series are available in TO-218AC packages.
