Polymer tantalum capacitors have very low ESR

The F38 series of miniature undertab conductive polymer tantalum capacitors has significantly reduced the ESR in several ratings, compared to previous versions. They include a 22-µF 0603 capacitor, with a low 1.0-mm profile and 6.3-V rating that has an ESR of only 200 mΩ at 100 kHz.

Values range from 10 to 68 µF at 6.3 V and 2.2 to 22 µF at 10 V. Leakage currents are specified at 10 to 86 µA and 100-kHz rms-rated current is 224 to 548 mA at 20°C. Tolerance is ±20% at 120 Hz and rated temperature is 85° or 60°C. An example 22-µF part number F380J226MMAAH1 is $0.23 ea/4,000.
