512 Mbit serial flash memory uses stacked dies

The SpiFlash W25M512JV 512 Mbit serial NOR flash memory uses a dual/quad SPI interface with a 104 MHz clock. The device has two stacked dies and comes in an 8-pin 8 x 6 mm WSON or a TFBGA24 package.

The IC can be used for code storage and offers 3 or 4-byte addressing modes and uniform 4 Kbyte erasable sectors. Page program time is 0.7 mS (typ.). It uses a 2.7 to 3.6 V supply with 4 mA active read current and 1 μA power-down current. The chip has three 256 byte security registers, with OTP lock, and a factory-programmed unique ID. Other versions of SpiFlash will stack NOR and NAND flash combinations. Samples available now.
