Samsung has recently announced a 256GB-fingernail-sized microSD card, setting a new precedent in storage capacity and easing the concerns of countless consumers unsatisfied with contemporary storage limitations. At 256 GBs, Samsung’s microSD offers the highest microSD storage capacity to-date, upending a title previously held by SanDisk’s 200 GB microSD card – which just launched this March.
The EVO Plus 256GB card promises speedy delivery of advanced V-NAND technology and memory storage to be used in smartphones, tablets, 360-degree video recorders, action cameras, and drones. Creative consumers and devout professionals can record up to 33 hours of Full HD video on a mobile device or camera before running out of storage space, thus permitting themselves to fully delve into their work without worrying about potential technical delays.
Offering read and write speeds that reach 95MB/s and 90MB/s, the card also provides reliable storage for high-resolution photography, storing up to 55,200 photos, and graphic intensive multimedia such as gaming, as well as up to 23,500 MP3 files/songs. Providing advanced protection and performance, Samsung’s EVO Plus 256GB microSD card ships with a limited 10-year warranty, and will be available this June in over 50 countries, including the USA, Europe, and China. The EVO Plus 256GB microSD card will retail for $249.99, joining other EVO Plus storage options of 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB, and Samsung’s other product lines Evo, Pro, and Plus.
