What’s inside: Samsung Galaxy S7

A teardown of the Android smartphone.

Samsung’s Galaxy S7 may just be the fastest, most powerful flagship smartphone of 2016. Its polished design, long battery life, microSD storage slight, and the fact that it’s water resistant, make the S7 hard to beat.

GalaxyS7

At 142.5 mm long, 69.6 mm wide, 7.9 mm thick, the smartphone is powered by a 2.2 GhZ Quad Core CPU and features a 5.1-in super AMOLED display screen rendering 2,560 x 1,440-pixel resolution with a 577-pixel density.

Its apps load promptly and Samsung’s cleaner TouchWiz feels more lightweight and easier to manage. The S7 has a split-screen view, which can be activated by tapping the multi-tasking button on the left of the home key.

The device boasts 32 Gbytes of internal storage and 4 Gbytes of RAM. It has a 12 Mpx primary camera with LED flash, as well as a 5 Mpx secondary camera. The Samsung Galaxy S7 runs on the Android V6.0 (Marshmallow). Its sensors include an accelerometer, barometer, gyroscope, finger print, magnometer, heart rate, and proximity.

And that’s not all it has to boast: the S7 has always-on functionality, a feature that Samsung employs on their flagship handsets. When the handset is lying idle, the device shows the clock, date, battery level, new text messages, and missed calls.

Connectivity options include Bluetooth V4.2 + A2DP, NFC, and Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac. Underneath the display panel is a 3,000 mAh Li-Ion battery. Available colors include gold platinum and black onyx.
