TC170 COM Express card from Congatec features latest Intel SoC

The conga-TC170 COM Express module features the 6th  generation Intel 14-nm microarchitecture CPUs with a TDP of 8.5 to 15 W. The 2-GHz dual-core Celeron Processor 3955U version, in COM Express Basic and Compact sizes, combines cost-efficient performance and state-of-the-art features such as 4K three-screen graphics processing, DDR4 RAM, and four USB 3.0 ports.

The card has two DRAM sockets for up to 32 Gbytes of 2133 MT/s DDR4 memory. Core i3, i5, and i7 processors are also available and include Intel Turbo Boost, Hyper-Threading, Advanced Vector Extensions 2.0 (AVX2), and Advanced Encryption Standard New Instructions (AES-NI). The module supports COM Express Type 6 pinout and has a GbE controller, eight PCI Express GEN 3.0 lanes, three Serial ATA Gen 3, four USB 3.0, eight USB 2.0, LPC bus (no DMA), I²C bus, and two UARTs.

It has two HDMI/DisplayPort 1.2 ports with support for Multi-Stream Transport (MST), resolutions up to 4K, and VGA is optional. The card has a Digital High-Definition Audio Interface with support for multiple audio codecs.

The TC170 can be optionally equipped with a discrete Trusted Platform Module (TPM 1.2/2.0), making it capable of calculating efficient hash and RSA algorithms with key lengths up to 2,048 bits and including a real random number generator. Security-sensitive applications such as gaming and e-commerce will benefit from improved authentication, integrity, and confidence levels.

The 3.74 x 3.74-in. card has a maximium operating temperature of 60°C. The slightly larger conga-TS170 COM Express Basic versions are available with the Celeron Processor G3900E with 2.4-GHz and 35-W TDP or with the G3902E featuring 1.6-GHz and 25-W TDP. The TC170 starts at $434 each.
